These karakia have been selected for their appropriateness for the kaupapa of hui, mahi and digital meetings.
We’ll continue to add new karakia as our hapori needs.

Tīhei Mauri Ora.
Whakamārama:
This karakia asks to bring the calmness of the skies and land that comes from the peace of Rongo to settle into our digital meeting. We send our gratitude to the pantheon of Atua for the days that have past and the days ahead.
Karakia:

This karakia talks about kawa (a particular ceremony or blessing) that stems from the heavens, transitions through the phases of growth coming to a student. Binds the student with lessons of the supernatural, of the old world of the pantheon of Atua to enter into the world of light.
Karakia timatanga:
Opening karakia. This can be used to open a hui. The line “kaupapa matihiko” refers to a digital kaupapa, so this would be appropriate online however you may choose to remove this word and just say: “i tēnei kaupapa.”
E Rangi, e Papa
E te whānau Atua
Whakatōhia ō koutou manaakitanga
Ki roto i a mātou, ki runga i tēnei kaupapa matihiko.
Tihei mauri ora.
Whakamārama:
Simply put this karakia is asking all Atua to plant their blessings into us, on to this digital kaupapa.
Karakia whakamutunga:

Unuhia, unuhia
Unuhia ki te urutapu nui
Kia wātea, kia māmā, te ngākau, te tinana, te wairua
I te ara takatū
Koia rā e Rongo, whakairia ake ki runga
Kia tina, tina!
Haumi e, hui e, tāiki e!
Whakamārama:
This karakia talks about removing tapu and clearing/calming the mind, body and spirit for what is ahead of us and gives thanks to Rongo.
Important note: tapu does not always mean sacred, tapu could mean a particular energy. For example, if we use this karakia for a hui we would be removing the energy of the hui to clear the mind, body and spirit for the next job.
