GOVERNMENT:

Te Puni Kōkiri

The Ministry of Māori Development is focused on Māori economic prosperity. There are several ways they can support Māori:

  • Māori Business Growth: Supporting your pakihi to grow in different ways. The first step is to speak to your regional advisor. Please note that this process can be slow but it is worth pursuing.
  • Cadetships: Supporting kaimahi to learn and grow. This provides funding to develop through education, on-the-job training or similar.

MBIE

The Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment supports a range of kaupapa in Māori Business growth.

https://www.mbie.govt.nz/business-and-employment/economic-development/maori-economic-development/supporting-maori-business/

Outside of this, they occasionally have specific funding for different kaupapa. The best thing to do to prepare for this is to join GETS to get alerts.

It’s a good idea to work with a supplier diversity partner like AmotaiHTK Group or Puna Awarau to get support with your applications.
