  • Te Ao Matihiko serves Māori and their whānau in the digital, innovation and technology sectors and their aspirations for success.
  • Te Tiriti o Waitangi is Aotearoa/NZ’s founding partnership agreement for the “peaceful coexistence of both Tangata Whenua and Tangata Tiriti and a commitment that they will each retain their identity.” We are led by the intent of te Tiriti o Waitangi in all that we do and we act in the best interests of Tangata Whenua to realise the aspirations of our tūpuna. 
  • Being tiriti-led means that we are unwavering in our pursuit of equitable access and participation for Māori in digital and tech and we staunchly advocate for a thriving Māori economy. We seek to establish a legacy of intergenerational leadership and entrepreneurial opportunities for our tamariki mokopuna, future-proofing the industry for Māori success.
  • We honour our responsibilities as māngai for the Māori communities we serve by actively holding the line and those we work with to account to protect our mana motuhake and the intent of te Tiriti o Waitangi.

  • act as a māngai and advocate for Māori aspirations and success.

  • are an Uara Māori led organisation.

  • seek to establish pathways to leadership for Māori in digital and tech

Article 2: Rangatiratanga


Māori Self-Determination

  • embed tikanga and
    kawa into our
    everyday practice.

  • honour the tikanga
    and kawa of mana
    whenua in the places
    we work.

  • incorporate re-indigenisation criteria as measures of success, promoting Māori succeeding

Article 3: Ōritetanga


Equity

  • recognise the diverse nature of Māori and not make assumptions or generalisations.

  • are inclusive of diversity and seek to empower the marginalised.

  • actively support the
    revitalisation of te
    reo Māori.

  • are aware of the

    advocate on their
