Payments NZ’s Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer Jane Retimana has generously offered three tickets (value up to$1800) for our hapori to attend their industry conference, for those interested in financial tech and the payments sector. This koha is offered through their To Mātou Haerenga (rautaki Māori) to encourage the representation and rangatiratanga of Māori in the payments network.

Join leaders from across the payments, banking, fintech, tech and retail sectors as they address key challenges and future opportunities in the local and global payments space.
Among the notable Māori, Pasifika and indigenous speakers are maramataka expert, Matua Rereata Mākihawho will open the conference and lay down the wero for intergenerational strategy. Traci Houpapa, one our most accomplished Māori businesswomen will join with Jennifer Henry from the Bank of Cook Islands on a panel talking trade and the global economy. Te Hapori Matihiko board member, Janelle Riki-Waaka, will moderate a panel on transforming our workplaces to prepare for our mokopuna. This panel will also feature Adrian Smith,from fintech BlinkPay, Eteroa Lafaele from Fibre Fale and WunaID’s Jason Urranndulla Davis from the Kalkadoon & Waanyi Nations. Payments NZ kaimahi Māori Jane Retimana and Chad Haighmark will also feature as panellists and Mike McRoberts is heading up the MC duties for the two days. The conference will cover topics like cross border payments, instant payments and digital wallets, AI, open banking, digital identity, emerging payment systems, financial crime, and more!
